At the heart of Gilpin Hotel & Lake House is a very passionate family and team, dedicated to creating lasting memories for our guests. Warmth and friendliness are balanced with extraordinary service, exquisite décor and stunning culinary experiences at these two luxury country houses in the beautiful Lake District.
We have two luxurious hotels on two separate estates, please explore and choose which experience is for you…
Gilpin – The Hotel
At Gilpin Hotel all of the bedrooms have lovely Lakeland views, most leading directly onto the gardens – 6 with their own cedarwood hot tubs, and 5 fabulous new detached Spa Lodges, each with their own ensuite spa (rainmaker showers and steam rooms inside, hydrotherapy hot tubs and saunas outside) for a very special, private experience.
Gilpin Lake House – The Country House
Just a mile away from Gilpin Hotel you will find Gilpin Lake House, where just 6 rooms exclusively enjoy 100 acres of grounds, including a stunningly beautiful private lake, boat house, heated indoor pool leading out to the lake, hot-tubs and Jetty spa. (Please note that the Spa Lodges are at the main hotel, not at the Lake House).

Top 10 reasons to visit Gilpin
‘Hrishi’ Michelin starred restaurant where Desai’s imaginative dishes combine great Lake District produce and classic methods to deliver modern British dishes with a twist of Asia: unbelievable textures and flavours that satisfy traditionalists while giving experimentalists something new.
When you stay at Gilpin, you’re not just choosing a bedroom, you’re choosing an interior design with fabulous fabrics, wallpapers and furnishings. We have evolved Gilpin Hotel over the last 25 years, spreading out instead of up, so that fourteen of the twenty bedrooms lead directly onto the gardens, many with private decking and cedarwood hot tubs, and all with lovely views. Gilpin Lake House is, put simply, a sanctuary, where just six suites enjoy exclusive access to 100 acres of private grounds, including a stunningly beautiful four-acre private lake and the new Jetty Spa.
Each of the Garden Suites has its own garden complete with cedarwood hot tub. Relax by your fire, listen to music, stroll out into your garden and sink into your hot tub, with surrounding ponds and water features made from traditional Lakeland stone. As dusk falls, enjoy the evening light and natural features – winter or summer, as they are used all year round.
We have some amazing packages involving our spa and hot tubs. With no business, weddings or young children, where better for a spot of luxurious relaxation and romance?
Our Magic Moments packages are perfect for luxurious, romantic occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, minimoons, babymoons and proposals). Choose a Junior Suite, Garden Suite or the Lake House and then discover the fabulous packages we have put together for you…
