To Gilpin Hotel
- From the North or South leave the M6 at junction 36.
- Take the A590 dual carriageway (which becomes the A591) following the signs to South Lakes.
- At the roundabout just North of Kendal take the first exit which is the B5284 signposted Hawkshead via Ferry and Crook.
- Gilpin Hotel is 5 miles along this road on the right hand side, clearly signposted.
- Please turn left once in the grounds towards the drop off point/reception, where we will greet you. Please leave your luggage in the car at this stage.
To Gilpin Lake House and Knipe Tarn
- From the North or South leave the M6 at junction 36.
- Take the A590 dual carriageway (which becomes the A591) following the signs to South Lakes.
- At the roundabout just North of Kendal take the first exit which is the B5284 signposted Hawkshead via Ferry and Crook.
- Approximately 1 ½ miles after Crook village, just after the sign for Gilpin Farm Hollythwaite, turn left directly opposite The Wild Boar Hotel and follow the lane through Michelland Farm and continue up the hill.
- You will go past one turning (on your left), very soon after you will also see on your left a set of black iron gates signed “Knipe Tarn”. You have arrived at the Lake House!
- Follow the drive to the end on arrival where we will greet you and unload your luggage for you.
- We would kindly request that after your arrival, you use the car park at the bottom of the drive in order to preserve the peace of the property.
