Rates are per room per night (based on double occupancy), and include full English breakfast, five-course dinner and VAT, as well as complimentary use of nearby spa for hotel guests and an in-house spa for Lake House guests; we welcome children over the age of seven. Lake House rates also include a chauffeur to and from Gilpin in the evening (if dining). Join us over the Christmas and New Year period and enjoy a true Lakeland festive season, with all the peace, tranquillity and relaxation you could wish for. In an atmosphere redolent of an elegant, comfortable, private house, but which leaves you in no doubt that you are in a friendly, luxurious hotel, this is simply a haven of unhurried pampering. Prices for the festive season are per room, and in addition to the festivities mentioned, include accommodation, five course dinner, full English breakfast and VAT.
CHRISTMAS PACKAGE
Christmas arrive on Monday 23 December, for four nights of gastronomy, hospitality and entertainment with plenty of time for relaxation. On Christmas Eve there is a splendid lunch outing on Lake Windermere, and on Christmas Day ‘The Christmas Day Feast’ starts with a residents Champagne reception and proceeds at a leisurely pace throughout the afternoon with a light supper later.

ROOM TYPES AT GILPIN HOTEL & LAKE HOUSE
The Lake House Suites range in price with Adgie in the first tier, Ethel, Maud, Beatrice and Gertie in the middle tier, and Harriet in the top tier. We will always note any preference you express for a particular room and endeavour to accommodate your wishes, but this may not always be possible and a similar room may be substituted.
CLASSIC ROOMS (average 25m2): Traditional double or twin beds with comfortable seating in the room. The bathrooms have combined bath and showers.
MASTER ROOMS(average 35m2): Large rooms with king, queen or twin beds, and comfortable lounge areas. Some bathrooms have combined bath and showers, whilst others have separate bath and walk-in showers.
JUNIOR SUITES (average 39m2): Very large open plan rooms with lounge areas (some split level). All have king size or twin beds except one, which has a queen size four poster bed. All have French windows and private patios leading to the gardens. The bathrooms are large with separate walk-in showers and spa baths.
GARDEN SUITES (average 43m2): Designed for complete relaxation with a large, light and airy space rather than the traditional concept of separate rooms. All have huge glass-fronted lounge areas, individual gardens with cedar wood hot tubs, enormous beds, large sofas (some of which convert to beds), modern fireplaces, flat screen TVs, and sensual bathrooms.
LAKE HOUSE ROOMS: Open plan rooms with double or twin beds, seating areas, en suite bathrooms, luxurious toiletries and beautiful views. All are equipped with flat screen TVs and IPOD docking stations, and tea and coffee trays with home-made biscuits. The Lake House Spa and 100 acres of grounds are for the exclusive use of Lake House guests, including a myriad of treatments (prebooking essential), sauna and heated indoor swimming pool with views towards the cedar wood hot tub on the lake edge. The Lake House is just under a mile from the main hotel.
