EAT & DRINK
With a fascinating history as a centre of the spice trade, Cumbrian cuisine has a rich heritage, and local specialities have long included exotic spices with favourites such as Cumberland sausage, potted shrimps, Grasmere gingerbread, and of course, sticky toffee pudding.
At Gilpin Hotel there are two restaurants celebrating this tradition –
with one Michelin star and three AA Rosettes…
In the Michelin starred HRiSHi, Hrishikesh Desai combines great Lake District produce and classic methods to deliver unbelievable textures and flavours – modern British cuisine with a twist.
Our casual restaurant with two AA Rosettes…
The laid-back Gilpin Spice has an open kitchen serving tapas-style pan-Asian dishes inspired by countries along the spice trail – spanning the Philippines, the Indian sub-continent, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and China.
A SPICY CHRISTMAS & OUR NEW APRES SPICE DOME
Tushar, Hoshi and Kulap have got their party hats on and would like to let you know about their Christmas party packages at Gilpin Spice, and are excited about their new Après Spice Dome, very much like the one you see here – snow not guaranteed!
The Après Spice Dome will have the feeling of a Winter wonderland, transporting you into an Alpine-esque mood but without the hassle of airports and security kerfuffles!
Gather your friends and colleagues for unique pre- and post-dinner drinks celebrations in our Après Spice Dome, with its own bar, wood-burning stove, snug seating, rugs, and general wintry fun, cosiness and fairy-light delights.
Christmas celebrations simply aren’t complete without music, so the Après Spice Dome will be playing all the Christmas classics and latest pop hits in style, with special cocktails for the festive season. Click here on the Dome or party table image to see details of our parties.
