Indulge in our luxury Spa Experiences in the Lake District, tailored for guests staying in any room, and open to non-residents as well. Whether you prefer our locally crafted Pure Lakes products or the luxurious ESPA range, there’s a pampering experience just for you at Gilpin Hotel.


Once again, Chris worked with Sarah Jane Nielson and her team at Nielsen House. Together, they created a calming and tranquil flow throughout the entire spa space, offering a sensory journey with naturally scented and textured wall coverings. Firstly, the scents of the oils and the warm, rich woods welcome you into the apothecary-inspired reception. Additionally, hints of the spice trail can be found in the restaurant below. Furthermore, the natural feel continues with an open, bright meadow scene that leads to the cool, dark impression of woodland in the textured treatment rooms.

Moreover, natural stones are used in the steam and shower rooms, and a light, calming relaxation room awaits. Outside, two hot tubs nestle in Garden Arwen, created with the roots and stumps that fell during Storm Arwen. Various woodland grasses reflect a woodland floor, with woodland ferns to the north and sun-loving sedums to the south. Ultimately, we hope you enjoy the natural, sensory space.

As we are a couples spa, all our treatments take place in our dedicated couples’ treatment rooms. If you prefer a single treatment or separate treatment rooms, these are available at our Jetty Spa at the Lakehouse. Please advise us at the time of booking.

For optimal relaxation, we recommend that couples choose treatments of the same duration. This ensures you both can fully unwind together enjoying our luxury spa experiences in the Lake District.

Terms & Conditions

Reservations – We strongly advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment. You will receive a booking confirmation within 24 hours. Please read and check the confirmation to ensure all details are correct. Any cancellation or modification of booking made within 24 hours will be subject to our cancellation policy.

Arrival – We highly recommend arriving at the Spa at least 15 minutes before your treatment. This allows us to check you in, complete consultation forms, and help you relax before your treatment. Late arrivals may result in a shorter treatment time, still charged at the full price.

Spa Facilities – Our spa facilities are included only with our spa trails. They are not included with treatment-only bookings and are available at an extra charge of £25 per person, subject to availability. Please adhere to your facility booking time.

Pregnancy – We have specially designed Spa Treatments for expectant and nursing mothers. Allow our Spa Team to guide you in selecting the most suitable treatments. We do not recommend using Thermal Cabins or Hot Tubs during pregnancy. If you have any doubts, please check with your GP before making a reservation. Unfortunately, we do not offer Spa treatments during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Consultation and Medical Information – You will receive a consultation form with your email confirmation. Please complete this before arrival so any necessary adaptations can be made in advance. It is your responsibility to inform the therapist of any medical conditions. Depending on your health condition, we may request a letter from your GP advising us that the treatment is suitable.

Age Requirements – You must be 16 years or older to use the spa facilities and to have spa treatments.

What to wear – We advise wearing swimwear, robes, and slippers for our spa trails. Lockers are available for your clothes and belongings, but space is limited. Valuables left in the spa or lockers are at your own risk. The Spa cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to personal belongings. No outdoor footwear is allowed in our spa area; spa footwear will be provided on arrival.

Electronic devices – To keep our spa a relaxing escape for all guests, we ask that noise be kept to a minimum. Please switch mobile phones to silent and refrain from taking phone calls whenever possible.

Smoking – Our spa and its surroundings are non-smoking areas, including vaping and electronic cigarettes.

Cancellation Policy – We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Any treatments cancelled or dates modified within 48 hours are fully chargeable. Missed appointments or late arrivals are also fully chargeable.

Prices – We reserve the right to raise prices or modify treatments without notice. All information is correct at the time of printing.

If you are unhappy with your Spa experience, please raise any concerns immediately so we can resolve them before you leave the Spa.
