🌿 Spa Therapist – Maternity Leave Cover

Step into serenity at Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, home to a 5 Bubble‑rated luxury spa in the heart of the Lake District. We are seeking a passionate, professional Spa Therapist to join our award‑winning team on a fixed‑term Maternity Leave Cover contract for approximately nine months, with an immediate start.

Salary: £12.80 – £13.80 per hour

Gratuities: £234 – £526 per month (average)

Depending on performance and operational needs, there may be potential for extension or progression into a permanent role.

As part of our dedicated spa team, you will deliver high‑quality ESPA treatments across our Spa Space, Jetty Spa, and exclusive private spa suites. Each area is designed to offer guests deeply personal, restorative experiences that reflect our commitment to excellence. As an ESPA‑trained therapist, your refined, intuitive approach will ensure every treatment upholds the luxury standards that contribute to our 5 Bubble rating and exceptional guest feedback.

💆🏻 Your Role as SPA THERAPIST:

• Delivers a range of high‑end ESPA‑inspired treatments — including massages, facials, and body therapies — with precision, care, and confident technical skill. 
• Provides a warm, personalised guest experience, ensuring every treatment feels tailored and intuitive. Supports the wider spa team in maintaining a tranquil, welcoming environment that reflects Gilpin’s signature calm.
• Contributes to the smooth, seamless running of the spa, enhancing the overall guest journey. 
• Maintains immaculate treatment rooms and consistently upholds exceptional hygiene and presentation standards. 
• Recommends targeted ESPA products and personalised wellness routines to support each guest’s individual needs. 
• Stays informed on emerging wellness techniques, ESPA protocols, and product innovations to deliver best‑in‑class treatments.

🎓 What You Bring

• Fully qualified in beauty therapy and massage, holding NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, ensuring advanced technical capability and treatment proficiency.
• Proven experience delivering ESPA protocols, luxury treatments, and personalised product recommendations that elevate the guest wellness journey.
• Background in high‑end hospitality or spa environments, demonstrating an understanding of premium guest expectations and five‑star service standards.
• Professional spa demeanour – calm, polished, and guest‑focused presence, with a genuine passion for wellbeing and restorative experiences.
• Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail, supporting seamless treatment delivery and operational efficiency.
• Authentic guest‑centred approach that’s warm, intuitive, and aligned with Gilpin’s ethos of thoughtful, personalised hospitality, ensuring every guest receives a tailored, memorable spa experience.
